Mark Joyner start a free blogging course

I’m evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they’re letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It covers:

  • The best blogging techniques.
  • How to get traffic to your blog.
  • How to turn your blog into money.

I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it’s still free.

Googel Zeitgeist 2007 report

Here is the report af the fastes raising search terms during 2007 (minus the last two weeks). It’s interesitng to check out the global search terms for the winners.

  1. iphone
  2. badoo (social networking site)
  3. facebook (social networking site)

The top 3 on US are:

  1. iphone
  2. webkinz
  3. tmz

And the fastest falling (buhu)

  1. world cup*
  2. mozart
  3. fifa
  4. rebelde*  (I guess this means “Rebelde Way” days are going to end soon)
  5. kazaa

Next you can see al the list. I’m sad to see that Shakira is No. 9 in the fastest falling. (I ‘m sure it will improve on the next album release)

¿Predicitons for the next year? I think we will see more social networking (Hi5 will go up, I’m sure) and web 2.0 sites on the list and probably “Harry Potter” and some other bluckbusters will show up. It’s interesting to see that mp3 is falling, I wonder what is “replacing” that.

You are free to comment your predictions:

How do I create my sites

Quetansexy.netI remember my first site. It was 1999 and I have no idea of wysiwyg or even html. It was a 2 page site with a lot of bad formated images that (obviously) never saw the light.

Since thoose romantics times, things has change and now we have great tools to create almost any kind of site we like.

And I’ve created a lot of sites, from blogs, to sales letters, portals, estores and more.

And here is how I do it:

Xsite Pro

I always use Xsite if I want to creat sales letter, squeeze pages or any kind of minsite. I use to create sites on dreamweaver but Xsite tools are kick a$%.

I love the fact that you can control the layout so easy and the hover ads system (I looove hover ads). And you always have that scripts and affiliate links right there.

Plus I can create a full site in less than 30 minutes. How can I not love it?!!

Dreamweaver

I do use dreamweaver but more as a server pages editor, specially for php pages. I also use it to edit things that are not easy to check on xsite (like tables with no border)

This was the first professional web site creator I learned to use, and if you are a code lover then you could go this way.

Wordpress

This is becoming my new favorite really fast. I did use wordpress a long time ago to create a small blog for one of my stores but I did never take the time to look to much into it.

Now it’s a whole different story.

I like the fact that there are free plugins for about anything you can thing of. It’s always having updates so you can have a modern site with no hassle. And you can even bring visitors just for using your site!!

This is the system I always recommend to my customers nowadays
Joomla

I used to have some Joomla instalations but today I only have one. I do think is a great system but it’s far more complicated than wordpress and you need to set a lot of thing to make it secure and search engine friendly.

Plus, two of my first sites were hacked and that was reason enought for me to put the plug out on Joomla.

However I do know that if you put your time and knownledge you can create great sites with this tool.

PHPbb

If I want a forum this is how I do it. It’s very easy to set it up (specially if you have fantastico on your cpanel). And there are a lot of plugins you can use.

I have two or three sites working on this and it always works fine.

Other scripts

I use free scripts whenever I have the chance. Sometimes I create sites just to see a script working (like www.quetansexy.net). I used scripts to create social networks, picture and ratings sites.

Fireworks

Why use Illustrator or Photoshop when you have Fireworks??  It’s easy and fast.

For images or vector graphics, this is my way to go. I can veary easily create a whole set of layouts in no time.

I love the “assets” feature, you can create very cool buttons and designs in just one click. (The only thing missing is a stripes creator)

Let’s have a “Pet”

I alway like it when there are some sort of pets in books. They make the learning more enjoyable and easy to digest.

So I said to myself: “Myself, let’s have a pet on the new blog!”

Introducing our pet.. “Pet”And here it is. It’s name is “Pet” (I know, but anyway!). I think he has personality and it’ll be funny to see how can we make some use of him.

Actually having a virtual pet is a very smart move, specially if you are creating a content site. Pets not only can create a sense of company as the readers visit the site, they are also great tools to make it more remarkable and memorable. They are great marketing tools indeed.

I think he looks quite good (and is very easy to draw). Maybe I’ll start using him in my others sites.

Ok. let’s start this thing

pet-you-finally-did-it.jpgWell, after a couple of years working online I finally decided to give myself a try in the blogging world, well I have a few blogs in spanish but nothing big (as I intend this one to become)

I’ll be posting tips, tricks, videos and reviews about some of the tools I’ve been using in my project and news about the ecommerce and marketing industry

By now I’ll take some time in optimizing the site.

I’m using The Super Adsense Free Themes of easywordpress which is a great tool I’ve been using in some other sites. Greeeat thing to start a blog in the right way.

I hope to get some good new content in one day or two.

Let’s see how this goes :D
